Create your Own ePortfolio

While logged into Digication …

  1. Click on the CREATE button to the right of the My ePortfolios.
  2. Enter the Title of your e-Portfolio (this will also be the words added to the end of your ePortfolio’s web address).
  3. Choose a template, if needed. Otherwise, just click on the “Create from Scratch” option.
  4. Set your permissions to “Private to me” … you can switch this to a more public view once you are ready to share your e-Portfolio with others.
  5. Set Tagging option to “Do not allow tags.”
  6. Set your Comments options. You can leave these alone until you are to share your ePortfolio with others.

Once you’ve gone through these steps, you will be presented with your first ePortfolio.

You can now:

  • Add Sections for Horizontal Navigation across the top of your e-Portfolio. Some use this area to break their e-Portfolio into sections like: About Me, Resume, Work Samples, Goals, etc.
  • Add Pages to each Section of your e-Portfolio, which are displayed vertically down the left-side of your e-Portfolios. Some use Pages to display different reflective stories about their learning experiences, to display different reflective statements regarding service-learning experiences, to display evidence of learning through file attachments and links to work examples.
  • Add content to your Pages by adding Modules to each page. Modules come in four basic forms:
    • Image/Video/Audio – for displaying multimedia in your e-Portfolio
    • Rich Text – for displaying text with images.
    • Gallery – for displaying an image gallery.
    • Contact Form – for creating and displaying an online content form in your e-Portfolio.
    • There are also Social modules that you can add, like a Twitter Feed and Bookmarks, which are a set of links to some popular social networking sites.
  • Edit the initial Settings of your e-Portfolio by clicking on the Portfolio Tools drop-down menu in the upper-right.
